Ham Gharae Sacha Sohila Sachai Sabadh Suhaeia Ram ||

Within my home, the true wedding songs of rejoicing are sung; my home is adorned with the True Word of the Shabad.

ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਮੇਲੁ ਭਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥

Dhhan Pir Mael Bhaeia Prabh Ap Milaeia Ram ||

The soul-bride has met her Husband Lord; God Himself has consummated this union.

ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਾਤੀ ॥

Prabh Ap Milaeia Sach Mann Vasaeia Kaman Sehajae Mathee ||

God Himself has consummated this union; the soul-bride enshrines Truth within her mind, intoxicated with peaceful poise.

ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੀ ਸਚਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਰਾਵੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੀ ॥

Gur Sabadh Seegaree Sach Savaree Sadha Ravae Rang Rathee ||

Embellished with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and beautified with Truth, she enjoys her Beloved forever, imbued with His Love.

ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਪਾਏ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥

Ap Gavaeae Har Var Paeae Tha Har Ras Mann Vasaeia ||

Eradicating her ego, she obtains her Husband Lord, and then, the sublime essence of the Lord dwells within her mind.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰੀ ਸਫਲਿਉ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਬਾਇਆ ॥੧॥

Kahu Naanak Gur Sabadh Savaree Safalio Janam Sabaeia ||1||

Says Nanak, fruitful and prosperous is her entire life; she is embellished with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||1||

ਦੂਜੜੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੀ ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥

Dhoojarrai Kaman Bharam Bhulee Har Var N Paeae Ram ||

The soul-bride who has been led astray by duality and doubt, does not attain her Husband Lord.

ਕਾਮਣਿ ਗੁਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥

Kaman Gun Nahee Birathha Janam Gavaeae Ram ||

That soul-bride has no virtue, and she wastes her life in vain.

ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਇਆਣੀ ਅਉਗਣਵੰਤੀ ਝੂਰੇ ॥

Birathha Janam Gavaeae Manamukh Eianee Aouganavanthee Jhoorae ||

The self-willed, ignorant and disgraceful manmukh wastes her life in vain, and in the end, she comes to grief.

ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਪਿਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹਦੂਰੇ ॥

Apana Sathigur Saev Sadha Sukh Paeia Tha Pir Milia Hadhoorae ||

But when she serves her True Guru, she obtains peace, and then she meets her Husband Lord, face to face.

ਦੇਖਿ ਪਿਰੁ ਵਿਗਸੀ ਅੰਦਰਹੁ ਸਰਸੀ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥

Dhaekh Pir Vigasee Andharahu Sarasee Sachai Sabadh Subhaeae ||

Beholding her Husband Lord, she blossoms forth; her heart is delighted, and she is beautified by the True Word of the Shabad.

ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥

Naanak Vin Navai Kaman Bharam Bhulanee Mil Preetham Sukh Paeae ||2||

O Nanak, without the Name, the soul-bride wanders around, deluded by doubt. Meeting her Beloved, she obtains peace. ||2||

ਪਿਰੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

Pir Sang Kaman Jania Gur Mael Milaee Ram ||

The soul-bride knows that her Husband Lord is with her; the Guru unites her in this union.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਰਾਮ ॥

Anthar Sabadh Milee Sehajae Thapath Bujhaee Ram ||

Within her heart, she is merged with the Shabad, and the fire of her desire is easily extinguished.

ਸਬਦਿ ਤਪਤਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਆਈ ਸਹਜੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ॥

Sabadh Thapath Bujhaee Anthar Santh Aee Sehajae Har Ras Chakhia ||

The Shabad has quenched the fire of desire, and within her heart, peace and tranquility have come; she tastes the Lord's essence with intuitive ease.

ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਅਪਣੇ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੇ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਭਾਖਿਆ ॥

Mil Preetham Apanae Sadha Rang Manae Sachai Sabadh Subhakhia ||

Meeting her Beloved, she enjoys His Love continually, and her speech rings with the True Shabad.

ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਥਾਕੇ ਭੇਖੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥

Parr Parr Panddith Monee Thhakae Bhaekhee Mukath N Paee ||

Reading and studying continually, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages have grown weary; wearing religious robes, liberation is not obtained.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਜਗੁ ਬਉਰਾਨਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਈ ॥੩॥

Naanak Bin Bhagathee Jag Bourana Sachai Sabadh Milaee ||3||

O Nanak, without devotional worship, the world has gone insane; through the True Word of the Shabad, one meets the Lord. ||3||

ਸਾ ਧਨ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਮੇਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

Sa Dhhan Man Anadh Bhaeia Har Jeeo Mael Piarae Ram ||

Bliss permeates the mind of the soul-bride, who meets her Beloved Lord.

ਸਾ ਧਨ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰਸਿ ਰਸੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਅਪਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥

Sa Dhhan Har Kai Ras Rasee Gur Kai Sabadh Aparae Ram ||

The soul-bride is enraptured with the sublime essence of the Lord, through the incomparable Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਸਬਦਿ ਅਪਾਰੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨਿ ਵਸੇ ॥

Sabadh Aparae Milae Piarae Sadha Gun Sarae Man Vasae ||

Through the incomparable Word of the Guru's Shabad, she meets her Beloved; she continually contemplates and enshrines His Glorious Virtues in her mind.

ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੀ ਜਾ ਪਿਰਿ ਰਾਵੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਅਵਗਣ ਨਸੇ ॥

Saej Suhavee Ja Pir Ravee Mil Preetham Avagan Nasae ||

Her bed was adorned when she enjoyed her Husband Lord; meeting with her Beloved, her demerits were erased.

ਜਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਸੋਹਿਲੜਾ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ॥

Jith Ghar Nam Har Sadha Dhhiaeeai Sohilarra Jug Charae ||

That house, within which the Lord's Name is continually meditated upon, resounds with the wedding songs of rejoicing, throughout the four ages.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੬॥

O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, we are in bliss forever; meeting the Lord, our affairs are resolved. ||4||1||6||
