ਰੈਣਿ ਸੁਹਾਵੜੀ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ॥

Beautiful is the night, and beautiful is the day,

ਜਪਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮੇਲਾ ॥

When one joins the Society of the Saints and chants the Ambrosial Naam.

ਘੜੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਲ ਵੰਹਿ ਜੀਵਣੁ ਸਫਲੁ ਤਿਥਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

If you remember the Lord in meditation for a moment, even for an instant, then your life will become fruitful and prosperous. ||1||

ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੋਖ ਸਭਿ ਲਾਥੇ ॥

Simarath Nam Dhokh Sabh Lathhae ||

Remembering the Naam, the Name of the Lord, all sinful mistakes are erased.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਥੇ ॥

Anthar Bahar Har Prabh Sathhae ||

Inwardly and outwardly, the Lord God is always with us.

ਭੈ ਭਉ ਭਰਮੁ ਖੋਇਆ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਦੇਖਾ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

Bhai Bho Bharam Khoeia Gur Poorai Dhaekha Sabhanee Jaee Jeeo ||2||

Fear, dread and doubt have been dispelled by the Perfect Guru; now, I see God everywhere. ||2||

ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡ ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥

Prabh Samarathh Vadd Ooch Apara ||

God is All-powerful, Vast, Lofty and Infinite.

ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥

No Nidhh Nam Bharae Bhanddara ||

The Naam is overflowing with the nine treasures.

ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਲਵੈ ਨ ਲਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥

Adh Anth Madhh Prabh Soee Dhooja Lavai N Laee Jeeo ||3||

In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, there is God. Nothing else even comes close to Him. ||3||

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥

Kar Kirapa Maerae Dheen Dhaeiala ||

Take pity on me, O my Lord, Merciful to the meek.

ਜਾਚਿਕੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਸਾਧ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥

Jachik Jachai Sadhh Ravala ||

I am a beggar, begging for the dust of the feet of the Holy.

ਦੇਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਨੁ ਮਾਗੈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੪੫॥

Dhaehi Dhan Naanak Jan Magai Sadha Sadha Har Dhhiaee Jeeo ||4||38||45||

Servant Nanak begs for this gift: let me meditate on the Lord, forever and ever. ||4||38||45||
