ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਕਰੈ ਕਰਾਇਆ।
Karan Kaaran Samaradu Hai Saadhsangati Daa Karai Karaaiaa |
All competent God Himself is the efficient as well as material cause of all but He does everything according to the will of the holy congregation.

ਭਰੈ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਹੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਦਾ ਦੇਇ ਦਿਵਾਇਆ।
Bharai Bhandaar Daataru Hai Saadhsangati Daa Dayi Divaaiaa |
The stores of that bestower are full but he gives according to the wishes of the holy congregation.

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਰੂਪੁ ਹੋਇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦ ਸਮਾਇਆ।
Paarabraham Gur Roopu Hoi Saadhsangati Gur Sabadi Samaaiaa |
That transcendental Brahm, by being the Guru, enrapts the holy congregation into the Word, sabad.
ਵਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ : ਵਾਰ ੬ ਪਉੜੀ ੨ ਪੰ. ੩
ਜਗ ਭੋਗ ਜੋਗ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰਿ ਪੂਜਾ ਪਰੈ ਨ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ।
Jag Bhog Jog Dhiaanu Kari Poojaa Prai N Darasanu Paaiaa |
His glimpse can not be had by performing of yajna, offering sweets, yoga, concentration, ritualistic worship and ablutions.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਿਉ ਪੁਤੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਿਤਾ ਖਾਇ ਪੈਨ੍ਹੈ ਪੈਨ੍ਹਾਇਆ।
Saadhsangati Piu Putu Hoi Ditaa Khaai Painhai Painhaaiaa |
Fellows in the holy congregation maintain father-son relationship with the Guru,
ਵਾਰਾਂ ਭਾਈ ਗੁਰਦਾਸ : ਵਾਰ ੬ ਪਉੜੀ ੨ ਪੰ. ੫
ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਘਰਬਾਰੀ ਸਿਖ ਪੈਰੀ ਪਾਇਆ।
Gharabaaree Hoi Varatiaa Gharabaaree Sikh Pairee Paaiaa |
and whatever he gives to eat and put on, they eat and wear.

ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਉਦਾਸੁ ਰਖਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
Maaiaa Vichi Udaasu Rakhaaiaa ||2 ||
God remains detached in maya.
