The Shah once went out on a business and the wife became very distressed with the urge of sex.

ਤਿਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਪੈ ਤੇ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥

Tih Triya Pai Te Rahiyo Na Jaaeee ॥

ਕੇਲ ਕਿਯੋ ਇਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੨॥

Kela Kiyo Eika Purkh Bulaaeee ॥2॥

She could not control herself and called in a man for love-making.

ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਤ ਗਰਭ ਰਹਿ ਗਯੋ ॥

Kela Kamaata Garbha Rahi Gayo ॥

ਕੀਨੇ ਜਤਨ ਦੂਰਿ ਨਹਿ ਭਯੋ ॥

Keene Jatan Doori Nahi Bhayo ॥

With sex-play she became pregnant and, in spite of hard efforts she could not abort.

ਨਵ ਮਾਸਨ ਪਾਛੇ ਸੁਤ ਜਾਯੋ ॥

Nava Maasan Paachhe Suta Jaayo ॥

ਤਵਨਹਿ ਦਿਵਸ ਬਨਿਕ ਘਰ ਆਯੋ ॥੩॥

After nine months a son was born, and that day the Shah came back as well.(3)

ਬਨਿਕ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥

ਕਛੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤੈ ਬਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥

Kachhu Triya Tai Bibhachaara Kamaayo ॥

The Shah, in right fury, asked, ‘Oh, woman you have indulged in debauchery.

ਭੋਗ ਕਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਪੂਤ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥

Bhoga Kare Binu Poota Na Hoeee ॥

ਬਾਲ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਜਾਨਤ ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ॥੪॥

Baala Bridha Jaanta Sabha Koeee ॥4॥

‘Without making-love a son cannot be born, as all the young and old know this.’(4)

ਸੁਨਹੁ ਸਾਹੁ ਮੈ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥

Sunahu Saahu Mai Kathaa Sunaaoo ॥

ਤੁਮਰੇ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਭਰਮੁ ਮਿਟਾਊ ॥

Tumare Chita Ko Bharmu Mittaaoo ॥

‘Listen, my Shah, I will tell you the story and it will eradicate all the doubts from your heart.

ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥

Eika Jogee Tumare Griha Aayo ॥

ਤਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸੁਤ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੫॥

Tih Parsaadi Te Griha Suta Paayo ॥5॥

‘A yogi came in our house in your absence, and due to his benevolence this son is born.’(5)
