ਪਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪ ਤੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਜਾਤ ਪਰਾਇ ॥੧੪੫॥

Paapa Taapa Hari Jaapa Te Jaise Jaata Paraaei ॥145॥

Just as with the remembrance of the Name of the Loard, the sins and sufferings are removed.145.,

ਭਾਨੁ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਤਮ ਪਉਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਘਨੁ ਮੋਰ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਫਨਿ ਤਿਉ ਸੁਕਚਾਨੇ ॥

Bhaanu Te Jiau Tama Pauna Te Jiau Ghanu Mora Te Jiau Phani Tiau Sukachaane ॥

The demons were frightened from the goddess like the darkness from sun, like the clouds from the wind and the snake from the peacock.,

ਸੂਰ ਤੇ ਕਾਤੁਰੁ ਕੂਰ ਤੇ ਚਾਤੁਰੁ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੇ ਸਾਤੁਰ ਏਣਿ ਡਰਾਨੇ ॥

Soora Te Kaaturu Koora Te Chaaturu Siaangha Te Saatur Eeni Daraane ॥

Just like the cowards from the heroes, falsehood from the truth and the deer from the lion become fearful immediately.,

ਸੂਮ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਸੁ ਬਿਓਗ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਰਸੁ ਪੂਤ ਕਪੂਤ ਤੇ ਜਿਉ ਬੰਸੁ ਹਾਨੇ ॥

Sooma Te Jiau Jasu Biaoga Te Jiau Rasu Poota Kapoota Te Jiau Baansu Haane ॥

Just as the praise from the miser, bliss from separation and the family from a bad son are destroyed.,

ਧਰਮ ਜਿਉ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਤੇ ਭਰਮ ਸੁਬੁਧ ਤੇ ਚੰਡ ਕੇ ਜੁਧ ਤੇ ਦੈਤ ਪਰਾਨੇ ॥੧੪੬॥

Dharma Jiau Karudha Te Bharma Subudha Te Chaanda Ke Judha Te Daita Paraane ॥146॥

Just as the Dharma is destroyed with anger and intellect with illusion, similarly the war and in great anger ran forward.,

ਫੇਰ ਫਿਰੈ ਸਭ ਜੁਧ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਲੈ ਕਰਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਹੁਇ ਧਾਏ ॥

Phera Phrii Sabha Judha Ke Kaaran Lai Karvaan Karudha Huei Dhaaee ॥

The demons returned again for war and in great anger ran forward.,

ਏਕ ਲੈ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨਨ ਤਾਨ ਕੈ ਤੂਰਨ ਤੇਜ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਤੁਰਾਏ ॥

Eeka Lai Baan Kamaann Taan Kai Tooran Teja Turaanga Turaaee ॥

Some of them run their swift horses pulling their bows fitted with arrows.,

ਧੂਰਿ ਉਡੀ ਖੁਰ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੇ ਪਥ ਊਰਧ ਹੁਇ ਰਵਿ ਮੰਡਲ ਛਾਏ ॥

Dhoori Audee Khur Pooran Te Patha Aooradha Huei Ravi Maandala Chhaaee ॥

The dust which hath been created by horses’ hooves and hath gone upwards, hath covered the sun’s sphere.,

ਮਾਨਹੁ ਫੇਰ ਰਚੇ ਬਿਧਿ ਲੋਕ ਧਰਾ ਖਟ ਆਠ ਅਕਾਸ ਬਨਾਏ ॥੧੪੭॥

Maanhu Phera Rache Bidhi Loka Dharaa Khtta Aattha Akaas Banaaee ॥147॥

ਚੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਕੁਵੰਡ ਲੈ ਬਾਨਨਿ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਤੂਲਿ ਜਿਉ ਤੂੰਬੇ ॥

Chaanda Parchaanda Kuvaanda Lai Baanni Daitan Ke Tan Tooli Jiau Tooaanbe ॥

ਮਾਰ ਗਇੰਦ ਦਏ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਦਾਨਵ ਮਾਨ ਗਇਓ ਉਡ ਪੂੰਬੇ ॥

Maara Gaeiaanda Daee Karvaara Lai Daanva Maan Gaeiao Auda Pooaanbe ॥

She hath killed the elephants with her sword, because of which the pride of the demons hath flown away like the flakes of akk-plant.,

ਬੀਰਨ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਕੀ ਸਿਤ ਪਾਗ ਚਲੀ ਬਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਨਤ ਊਪਰ ਖੂੰਬੇ ॥

Beeran Ke Sri Kee Sita Paaga Chalee Bahi Saronata Aoopra Khooaanbe ॥

The white turbans of the heads of warriors flowed in the blood-stream.,

ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸਾਰਸੁਤੀ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹ ਮੈ ਸੂਰਨ ਕੇ ਜਸ ਕੈ ਉਠੇ ਬੂੰਬੇ ॥੧੪੮॥

Maanhu Saarasutee Ke Parvaaha Mai Sooran Ke Jasa Kai Autthe Booaanbe ॥148॥

It seemed that the current of Saraswati, the bubbles of heroes’ praises are flowing.148.,

ਦੇਤਨ ਸਾਥ ਗਦਾ ਗਹਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੁਧੁ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

Detan Saatha Gadaa Gahi Haathi Su Karudha Havai Judhu Nisaanga Kariao Hai ॥

The goddess, taking her mace in her hand, waged a ferocious war against the demons, in great anger.,

ਪਾਨਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲਏ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੁ ਮਾਰ ਤਬੈ ਦਲ ਛਾਰ ਕਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

Paani Kripaan Laee Balavaan Su Maara Tabai Dala Chhaara Kariao Hai ॥

Holding her sword in her hand, she mighty Chandika killed and reduced the army of demons to dust.,

ਪਾਗ ਸਮੇਤ ਗਿਰਿਓ ਸਿਰ ਏਕ ਕੋ ਭਾਉ ਇਹੇ ਕਬਿ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਧਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥

Paaga Sameta Giriao Sri Eeka Ko Bhaau Eihe Kabi Taa Ko Dhariao Hai ॥

Seeing one head falling with turban, the poet imagined,

ਪੂਰਨਿ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਏ ਨਭ ਤੇ ਸੁ ਮਨੋ ਭੁਅ ਟੂਟ ਨਛਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਿਓ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੯॥

Poorani Puaann Paee Nabha Te Su Mano Bhua Ttootta Nachhatar Pariao Hai ॥149॥

That with the end of the of virtuous actions, a star hath fallen down of earth from the sky.149.,

ਬਾਰਿਦ ਬਾਰਨ ਜਿਉ ਨਿਰਵਾਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਬਲ ਧਾਰਿ ਤਬੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਆ ॥

Baarida Baaran Jiau Nrivaari Mahaa Bala Dhaari Tabe Eih Keeaa ॥

Then the goddess, with her great strength, throwing the big elephants far away like clouds.,

ਪਾਨਿ ਲੈ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੋ ਤਾਨਿ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਸਨੇਹ ਤੇ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਤ ਪੀਆ ॥

Holding the arrows in her hand she pulled the bow destroying the demons and drank the blood with great interest.,
