ਤਹਾ ਗਯੋ ਅਜੈ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੂਰਾ ਸੁਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ॥

Tahaa Gayo Ajai Siaangha Sooraa Sukarudhaan ॥

In that place of (of Sanaudhi Brahmin) went the warrior Ajai Singh in great rage,

ਹਨਿਯੋ ਅਸਮੇਧੰ ਕਰਿਓ ਪਰਮ ਜੁਧੰ ॥੧੪॥੨੮੫॥

Haniyo Asamedhaan Kariao Parma Judhaan ॥14॥285॥

Who wanted to kill Asumedh in a fierce war.14.285.

ਰਜੀਆ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਿਯੋ ਡਰੇ ਦੋਇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤੰ ॥

Rajeeaa Putar Dikhiyo Dare Doei Bharaataan ॥

Both the brothers were frightened on seeing the son of the maid-servant.

ਗਹੀ ਸਰਣ ਬਿਪ੍ਰੰ ਬੁਲਿਯੋ ਏਵ ਬਾਤੰ ॥

Gahee Sarn Biparaan Buliyo Eeva Baataan ॥

They took shelter of the Brahmin and said:

ਗੁਵਾ ਹੇਮ ਸਰਬੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਦਾਨੰ ॥

Guvaa Hema Sarabaan Mile Paraan Daanaan ॥

“Save our life, thou shalt receive the gift of cows and gold from the lord

ਸਰਨੰ ਸਰਨੰ ਸਰਨੰ ਗੁਰਾਨੰ ॥੧੫॥੨੮੬॥

Sarnaan Sarnaan Sarnaan Guraanaan ॥15॥286॥

“O Guru, we are in thy shelter, we are in thy shelter, we are in thy sgelter.”15.286.

ਤਬ ਭੂਪਤ ਤਹ ਦੂਤ ਪਠਾਏ ॥

Taba Bhoopta Taha Doota Patthaaee ॥

The king (Ajai Singh) sent his messengers (to king Tilak) and (Sanaudhi Brahmin).

ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਸਕਲ ਦਿਜ ਕੀਏ ਰਿਝਾਏ ॥

Tripata Sakala Dija Keeee Rijhaaee ॥

Who satisfied all the incoming Brahmin.

ਅਸਮੇਧ ਅਰੁ ਅਸੁਮੇਦ ਹਾਰਾ ॥

Asamedha Aru Asumeda Haaraa ॥

(These messengers saidJ “Asumedh and Asumedhan,

ਭਾਜ ਪਰੇ ਘਰ ਤਾਕ ਤਿਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥੨੮੭॥

Bhaaja Pare Ghar Taaka Tihaaraa ॥1॥287॥

“Have run and hid themselves in thy home.1.287.

ਕੈ ਦਿਜ ਬਾਧ ਦੇਹੁ ਦੁਐ ਮੋਹੂ ॥

Kai Dija Baadha Dehu Duaai Mohoo ॥

“O Brahmin, either bind and deliver them to us

ਨਾਤਰ ਧਰੋ ਦੁਜਨਵਾ ਤੋਹੂ ॥

Naatar Dharo Dujanvaa Tohoo ॥

“O thou shalt be considered like them

ਕਰਿਓ ਨ ਪੂਜਾ ਦੇਉ ਨ ਦਾਨਾ ॥

Kariao Na Poojaa Deau Na Daanaa ॥

“Thou shalt neither be worshipped nor any gift be given to thee

ਤੋ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਵੋ ਦਿਜ ਨਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੨੮੮॥

To Ko Dukh Devo Dija Naanaa ॥2॥288॥

“Thou shalt then be given various types of sufferings.2.288.

ਕਹਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦੁਇ ਕੰਠ ਲਗਾਏ ॥

Kahaa Mritaka Duei Kaanttha Lagaaee ॥

“Why hast thou hugged these two dead ones to thy bosom?

ਦੇਹੁ ਹਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਕਹਾ ਲਜਾਏ ॥

Dehu Hamai Tuma Kahaa Lajaaee ॥

“Give them back to us Why art thou hesitating?

ਜਉ ਦੁਐ ਏ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹੁ ਨ ਮੋਹੂ ॥

Jau Duaai Ee Tuma Dehu Na Mohoo ॥

“If thou dost not return both of them to me,

ਤਉ ਹਮ ਸਿਖ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਤੋਹੂ ॥੩॥੨੮੯॥

Tau Hama Sikh Na Hoei Hai Tohoo ॥3॥289॥

“Then we shall not be thy disciples.”3.289.

ਤਬ ਦਿਜ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੀਓ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ॥

Taba Dija Paraata Keeao Eisanaanaa ॥

Then the Sanaudhi Brahmin got up early in the morning and took bath.

ਦੇਵ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਤੋਖੇ ਬਿਧ ਨਾਨਾ ॥

Dev Pitar Tokhe Bidha Naanaa ॥

He worshipped in various ways the gods and manes.

ਚੰਦਨ ਕੁੰਕਮ ਖੋਰ ਲਗਾਏ ॥

Chaandan Kuaankama Khora Lagaaee ॥

Then he put the frontal marks of sandal and saffron on his forehead.

ਚਲ ਕਰ ਰਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਮੈ ਆਏ ॥੪॥੨੯੦॥

Chala Kar Raaja Sabhaa Mai Aaee ॥4॥290॥

After that he walked upto his court.4.290.
