ਏਕਹਿ ਆਪ ਸਭਨ ਮੋ ਬਿਆਪਾ ॥

Eekahi Aapa Sabhan Mo Biaapaa ॥

Only one lord pervades all

ਸਭ ਕੋਈ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਰ ਥਾਪਾ ॥੩੫॥

Sabha Koeee Bhiaann Bhiaann Kar Thaapaa ॥35॥

But appears to everyone as distinctly separate accofding to his discernment.35.

ਸਭ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਰਮ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਅਲੇਖਾ ॥

Sabha Hee Mahi Rama Rahiyo Alekhaa ॥

That inconceivable Lord pervades all

ਮਾਗਤ ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਤੇ ਲੇਖਾ ॥

Maagata Bhiaann Bhiaann Te Lekhaa ॥

And all the beings beg from him according to their writ

ਜਿਨ ਨਰ ਏਕ ਵਹੈ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥

Jin Nar Eeka Vahai Tthaharaayo ॥

He, who hath comprehended the Lord as One,

ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪਰਮ ਤਤੁ ਕਹੁ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੩੬॥

Tin Hee Parma Tatu Kahu Paayo ॥36॥

Only he hath realized the Supreme Essence.36.

ਏਕਹ ਰੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਸਰੂਪਾ ॥

Eekaha Roop Anoop Saroopaa ॥

That One Lord hath a hath a Unique Beauty and Form

ਰੰਕ ਭਯੋ ਰਾਵ ਕਹੂੰ ਭੂਪਾ ॥

Raanka Bhayo Raava Kahooaan Bhoopaa ॥

And he Himself is somewhere a king and somewhere a pauper

ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਸਭਹਨ ਉਰਝਾਯੋ ॥

Bhiaann Bhiaann Sabhahan Aurjhaayo ॥

He hath involved all through various means

ਸਭ ਤੇ ਜੁਦੋ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੁੰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥੩੭॥

Sabha Te Judo Na Kinhuaan Paayo ॥37॥

But he Himself is separate from all and none could know His mystey.37.

ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਉਪਜਾਯੋ ॥

Bhiaann Bhiaann Sabhahooaan Aupajaayo ॥

He hath created all in separate forms

ਭਿੰਨ ਭਿੰਨ ਕਰਿ ਤਿਨੋ ਖਪਾਯੋ ॥

Bhiaann Bhiaann Kari Tino Khpaayo ॥

And He Himself destroys all

ਆਪ ਕਿਸੂ ਕੋ ਦੋਸ ਨ ਲੀਨਾ ॥

Aapa Kisoo Ko Dosa Na Leenaa ॥

He doth not take any blame on His own Head

ਅਉਰਨ ਸਿਰ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਦੀਨਾ ॥੩੮॥

Aaurn Sri Buriaaeee Deenaa ॥38॥

And fixes the responsibility of vicious acts on others.38.

ਅਥ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਮਛ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਥਨੰ ॥

Atha Parthama Machha Avataara Kathanaan ॥

Now begins the description of the first Machh Incarnation

ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰ ਦਾਨਵ ਪੁਨਿ ਭਯੋ ॥

Saankhaasur Daanva Puni Bhayo ॥

Once there was born a demon named Shankhasura

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੈ ਜਗ ਕੋ ਦੁਖ ਦਯੋ ॥

Bahu Bidhi Kai Jaga Ko Dukh Dayo ॥

Who, in many ways, distressed the world

ਮਛ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਆਪਿ ਪੁਨਿ ਧਰਾ ॥

Machha Avataara Aapi Puni Dharaa ॥

Then the Lord manifested Himself as Machh (Fish) incarnation,

ਆਪਨ ਜਾਪੁ ਆਪ ਮੋ ਕਰਾ ॥੩੯॥

Aapan Jaapu Aapa Mo Karaa ॥39॥

Who repeated His Own name Himself.39.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਤੁਛ ਮੀਨ ਬਪੁ ਧਰਾ ॥

Prithamai Tuchha Meena Bapu Dharaa ॥

At first he Lord manifested Himself as small fish,

ਪੈਠਿ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਝਕਝੋਰਨ ਕਰਾ ॥

Paitthi Samuaandar Jhakajhoran Karaa ॥

And shook the ocean violenty

ਪੁਨਿ ਪੁਨਿ ਕਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਾ ॥

Puni Puni Karta Bhayo Bisathaaraa ॥

Then He enlarged his body,

ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰਿ ਤਬ ਕੋਪ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੪੦॥

Saankhaasuri Taba Kopa Bichaaraa ॥40॥

Seeing which Shankhasura got greatly enraged.40.
