The whickers on the faces and terrible swords in the hands of the warriors look impressive,

ਫਿਰੈ ਗਉਰ ਗਾਜੀ ॥

Phrii Gaur Gaajee ॥

ਨਚੈ ਤੁੰਦ ਤਾਜੀ ॥੪੭॥

Nachai Tuaanda Taajee ॥47॥

The mighty warriors are wandering in the battlefield and supremely swift horses are dancing.47.

ਭਰਿਯੋ ਰੋਸ ਸੰਖਾਸੁਰੰ ਦੇਖ ਸੈਣੰ ॥

Bhariyo Rosa Saankhaasuraan Dekh Sainaan ॥

On seeing the army, Shankhasura was highly enraged,

ਤਪੇ ਬੀਰ ਬਕਤ੍ਰੰ ਕੀਏ ਰਕਤ ਨੈਣੰ ॥

Tape Beera Bakataraan Keeee Rakata Nainaan ॥

Other heroes also blazing with anger began to shout loudly, with their eyes reddened with blood.

ਭੁਜਾ ਠੋਕ ਭੂਪੰ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਨਾਦ ਉੱਚੰ ॥

Bhujaa Tthoka Bhoopaan Kariyo Naada Auo`chaan ॥

The king Shankhasura, knocking his arms, raised a terrible thunder and

ਸੁਣੇ ਗਰਭਣੀਆਨ ਕੇ ਗਰਭ ਮੁਚੰ ॥੪੮॥

Sune Garbhaneeaan Ke Garbha Muchaan ॥48॥

Hearing his frightening sound, the pregnancy of women was miscarried.48.

ਲਗੇ ਠਾਮ ਠਾਮੰ ਦਮਾਮੰ ਦਮੰਕੇ ॥

Lage Tthaam Tthaamaan Damaamaan Damaanke ॥

All resisted at their place and the trumpets began to resound violently,

ਖੁਲੇ ਖੇਤ ਮੋ ਖਗ ਖੂਨੀ ਖਿਮੰਕੇ ॥

Khule Kheta Mo Khga Khoonee Khimaanke ॥

He bloody daggers coming out (from) the scabbards) glistened in the battlefield.

ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਭਾਂਤੰ ਕਮਾਣੰ ਕੜਕੇ ॥

Bhaee Karoor Bhaantaan Kamaanaan Karhake ॥

The voice of the cracking of the cruel bows were heard and

ਨਚੇ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਭੂਤੰ ਭੁੜਕੇ ॥੪੯॥

Nache Beera Baitaala Bhootaan Bhurhake ॥49॥

The ghosts and goblins began to dance furiously.49.

ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਆਯੁਧੰ ਸਾਯੁਧੰ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥

Giriyo Aayudhaan Saayudhaan Beera Khetaan ॥

The warriors began to fall in the battlefield alongwith their weapons, and

ਨਚੇ ਕੰਧਹੀਣੰ ਕਮਧੰ ਅਚੇਤੰ ॥

Nache Kaandhaheenaan Kamadhaan Achetaan ॥

The headless trunks began to dance unconsciously in the war.

ਖੁਲੇ ਖਗ ਖੂਨੀ ਖਿਆਲੰ ਖਤੰਗੰ ॥

Khule Khga Khoonee Khiaalaan Khtaangaan ॥

The bloody daggers and sharp arrow were struck,

ਭਜੇ ਕਾਤਰੰ ਸੂਰ ਬਜੇ ਨਿਹੰਗੰ ॥੫੦॥

Bhaje Kaataraan Soora Baje Nihaangaan ॥50॥

The trumpets began to resound violently and the warriors began to run hither and thither.50.

ਕਟੇ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੰ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰੰ ॥

Katte Charma Barmaan Giriyo Satar Sasataraan ॥

ਭਕੈ ਭੈ ਭਰੇ ਭੂਤ ਭੂਮੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਸਤ੍ਰੰ ॥

Bhakai Bhai Bhare Bhoota Bhoomaan Nrisataraan ॥

ਰਣੰ ਰੰਗ ਰਤੇ ਸਭੀ ਰੰਗ ਭੂਮੰ ॥

Ranaan Raanga Rate Sabhee Raanga Bhoomaan ॥

ਗਿਰੇ ਜੁਧ ਮਧੰ ਬਲੀ ਝੂਮਿ ਝੂਮੰ ॥੫੧॥

Gire Judha Madhaan Balee Jhoomi Jhoomaan ॥51॥

All were dyed in the dye of war and the mighty warriors began to fall in the battlefield swinging and reeling.51
