Tih Te Kahee Thoreeaai Beena Kathaa ॥

ਬਲਿ ਤ੍ਵੈ ਉਪਜੀ ਬੁਧ ਮੱਧਿ ਜਥਾ ॥

Bali Tavai Aupajee Budha Ma`dhi Jathaa ॥

Therefore, O Lord ! I compose in brief this significant story according to the intellect given to me by thee.

ਜਹ ਭੂਲਿ ਭਈ ਹਮ ਤੇ ਲਹੀਯੋ ॥

Jaha Bhooli Bhaeee Hama Te Laheeyo ॥

ਸੁ ਕਬੋ ਤਹ ਅੱਛ੍ਰ ਬਨਾ ਕਹੀਯੋ ॥੬॥

Su Kabo Taha A`chhar Banaa Kaheeyo ॥6॥

If there is any lapses on part, for that I am answerable, therefore, O Lord ! Grant me strength to compose this poem in appropriate language.6.

ਰਘੁ ਰਾਜ ਭਯੋ ਰਘੁ ਬੰਸ ਮਣੰ ॥

Raghu Raaja Bhayo Raghu Baansa Manaan ॥

ਜਿਹ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਯੋ ਪੁਰ ਅਉਧ ਘਣੰ ॥

Jih Raaja Karyo Pur Aaudha Ghanaan ॥

The king Raghu looked very impressive as a gem in the necklace of raghu clan. He ruled over Oudh for a long time.

ਸੋਊ ਕਾਲ ਜਿਣਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਰਾਜ ਜਬੰ ॥

Soaoo Kaal Jinyo Nriparaaja Jabaan ॥

ਭੂਅ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਯੋ ਅਜ ਰਾਜ ਤਬੰ ॥੭॥

Bhooa Raaja Karyo Aja Raaja Tabaan ॥7॥

When the Death (KAL) ultimately brought his end, then the king Aj ruled over the earth.7.

Aja Raaja Hanyo Jaba Kaal Balee ॥

ਸੁ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਕਥਾ ਦਸਰਥ ਚਲੀ ॥

Su Nripata Kathaa Dasartha Chalee ॥

When the king Aj was destroyed by the mighty destroyer Lord, then the story of Raghu clan moved forward through king Dasrath.

ਚਿਰ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੋ ਸੁਖ ਸੋਂ ਅਵਧੰ ॥

Chri Raaja Karo Sukh Sona Avadhaan ॥

ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਮਾਰ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਬਣੰ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੰ ॥੮॥

Mriga Maara Bihaara Banaan Su Parbhaan ॥8॥

He also ruled over Oudh with comfort and passed his comfortable days in the forest killing the deer.8.

ਜਗ ਧਰਮ ਕਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰੀ ਤਬ ਤੇ ॥

Jaga Dharma Kathaa Parchuree Taba Te ॥

ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰੇਸ ਮਹੀਪ ਭਯੋ ਜਬ ਤੇ ॥

Sumitaresa Maheepa Bhayo Jaba Te ॥

The Dharma of sacrifice was extensively propagated, when Dasrath, the Lord of Sumitra became the king.

ਦਿਨ ਰੈਣ ਬਨੈਸਨ ਬੀਚ ਫਿਰੈ ॥

Din Rain Banisan Beecha Phrii ॥

ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੇਤ ਹਰੈ ॥੯॥

Mriga Raaja Karee Mriga Neta Hari ॥9॥

The king moved in the forest day and night and hunted the tigers, elephants and deer.9.

ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਕਥਾ ਉਹ ਠੌਰ ਭਈ ॥

Eih Bhaanti Kathaa Auha Tthour Bhaeee ॥

ਅਬ ਰਾਮ ਜਯਾ ਪਰ ਬਾਤ ਗਈ ॥

Aba Raam Jayaa Par Baata Gaeee ॥

In this way, the story advanced in Oudh and now the part of the mother of Ram comes before us.
