ਤਾਤ ਦਯੋ ਬਨਬਾਸ ਹਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹ ਰਜਾਇ ਅਬੈ ਤਹ ਜਾਊ ॥

Taata Dayo Banbaasa Hamai Tuma Deha Rajaaei Abai Taha Jaaoo ॥

ਕੰਟਕ ਕਾਨ ਬੇਹੜ ਗਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯੋਦਸ ਬਰਖ ਬਿਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਆਊ ॥

Kaanttaka Kaan Beharha Gaahi Triyodasa Barkh Bite Phri Aaaoo ॥

“The father has exiled me and now you permit us to depart for the forest, I shall come back on the fourteenth year after roaming in the forest stuffed with thorns for thirteen years.

ਜੀਤ ਰਹੇ ਤੁ ਮਿਲੋ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਾਤ ਮਰੇ ਗਏ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੀ ਬਖਸਾਊ ॥

Bhoopha Kai Arinee Bar Te Basa Ke Bala Mo Phiri Raaja Kamaaoo ॥255॥

“O mother ! if I live, we shall meet again and if I die then for that purpose I have come to request you for forgiveness of my mistakes. On account of the boons granted by the king after residing in the forest, I shall rule again.”255.

ਹਾ ਰਘੁਬੀਰ ਸਿਰੋਮਣ ਰਾਮ ਚਲੇ ਬਨ ਕਉ ਮੁਹਿ ਕੱਉ ਕਤ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥

Haa Raghubeera Siroman Raam Chale Ban Kau Muhi Ka`au Kata Tiaagee ॥

When the mother heard these words, she clung to the neck of her son and said, “Alas, O Ram the superb person of Raghu clan ! why are you going to the forest, leaving me here?”

ਨੀਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਮ ਮੀਨ ਦਸਾ ਤਿਮ ਭੂਖ ਪਿਆਸ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਭਾਗੀ ॥

Neera Binaa Jima Meena Dasaa Tima Bhookh Piaasa Gaeee Sabha Bhaagee ॥

ਝੂਮ ਝਰਾਕ ਝਰੀ ਝਟ ਬਾਲ ਬਿਸਾਲ ਦਵਾ ਉਨ ਕੀ ਉਰ ਲਾਗੀ ॥੨੫੬॥

Jhooma Jharaaka Jharee Jhatta Baala Bisaala Davaa Auna Kee Aur Laagee ॥256॥

The position which is felt by the fish on forsaking water, who was in the same condition and all her hunger and thurst ended, she fell unconscious with a jerk and her heart felt scorching blaze.256.

ਜੀਵਤ ਪੂਤ ਤਵਾਨਨ ਪੇਖ ਸੀਆ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਦੁਤ ਦੇਖ ਅਘਾਤੀ ॥

ਚੀਨ ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰਜ ਕੀ ਛਬ ਕੋ ਸਭ ਸੋਕ ਬਿਸਾਰ ਹੀਏ ਹਰਖਾਤੀ ॥

Cheena Sumitarja Kee Chhaba Ko Sabha Soka Bisaara Heeee Harkhaatee ॥

“O son ! I live only on seeing your face and Sita also remains pleased on visualizing your divinity, on seeing the beauty of Lakshman, Sumitra remains pleased, forgetting all her sorrows.”

ਕੇਕਈ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਉਤਨ ਕੱਉ ਲਖਿ ਭਉਹ ਚੜਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਗਰਬਾਤੀ ॥

Kekaeee Aadika Sautan Ka`au Lakhi Bhauha Charhaaei Sadaa Garbaatee ॥

ਤਾਕਹੁ ਤਾਤ ਅਨਾਥ ਜਿਉ ਆਜ ਚਲੇ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥੨੫੭॥

Taakahu Taata Anaatha Jiau Aaja Chale Ban Ko Taji Kai Bilalaatee ॥257॥

These queens seeing Kaikeyi and other co-wives, and expressing their contempt, felt pride on account of their self-respect, felt pride on account of their self-respect, but see, today their sons are going to the forest, leaving them weeping like orphans,

ਲੱਛਨ ਮਾਤ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਹੁ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ਜੀਅ ਮੋ ਇਹ ਠਾਨੀ ॥

La`chhan Maata Ke Dhaam Bidaa Kahu Jaata Bhaee Jeea Mo Eih Tthaanee ॥

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਸੇਲ ਸੁਮਾਰ ਲਗੇ ਛਿਤ ਸੋਵਤ ਸੂਰ ਵਡੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ॥੨੫੮॥

Jaanuka Sela Sumaara Lage Chhita Sovata Soora Vade Abhimaanee ॥258॥

He said to his mother, The earth is full of sinful acts and this is the opportune time to live with Ram.” After hearing such words his mother fell down like the great and proud warrior who falls down with the blow of the spear and sleeps.258.

ਕਉਨ ਕੁਜਾਤ ਕੁਕਾਜ ਕੀਯੋ ਜਿਨ ਰਾਘਵ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤ ਬਖਾਨਯੋ ॥

Kauna Kujaata Kukaaja Keeyo Jin Raaghava Ko Eih Bhaanta Bakhaanyo ॥

ਲੋਕ ਅਲੋਕ ਗਵਾਇ ਦੁਰਾਨਨ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਤਹਾਂ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਨਯੋ ॥

Loka Aloka Gavaaei Duraann Bhoop Saanghaara Tahaan Sukh Maanyo ॥

“Which mean person has done this deed and said such things to Ram? He has lost his merit in this and the next world and who killing the king, has thought about the acquisition of supreme comfort.

ਭਰਮ ਗਯੋ ਉਡ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਯੋ ਘਟ ਧਰਮ ਕੋ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਅਧਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨਯੋ ॥
