Baandha Nikhaanga Chale Katti Sou Kahi Bharaata Eeehaan Karijai Rakhvaaree ॥353॥

ਓਟ ਥਕਯੋ ਕਰਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਿਸਾਚਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਘੁਬੀਰ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਸੰਘਾਰਯੋ ॥

Aotta Thakayo Kari Kotti Nisaachar Sree Raghubeera Nidaan Saanghaarayo ॥

The demon Marich tried to put Ram in uncertainty by running away at a high speed, but ultimately he was tired and Ram killed him.

ਹੇ ਲਹੁ ਬੀਰ ਉਬਾਰ ਲੈ ਮੋਕਹ ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਪੁਕਾਰਯੋ ॥

He Lahu Beera Aubaara Lai Mokaha You Kahi Kai Puni Raam Pukaarayo ॥

But at the time of death he shouted loudly in the voice of Ram, “O Brother, save me.”

ਜਾਨਕੀ ਬੋਲ ਕੁਬੋਲ ਸੁਨਯੋ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਓਰ ਸੁਮਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥

Jaankee Bola Kubola Sunayo Taba Hee Tih Aor Sumi`tar Patthaayo ॥

When Sita heard this frightening cry, she sent the mighty Lakshman to that side,

ਰੇਖ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੀ ਕਾਢ ਮਹਾਬਲ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ਇਤ ਰਾਵਨ ਆਯੋ ॥੩੫੪॥

Rekh Kamaan Kee Kaadha Mahaabala Jaata Bhaee Eita Raavan Aayo ॥354॥

Who before leaving drew a line there and then Ravana came in.354.

ਭੇਖ ਅਲੇਖ ਉਚਾਰ ਕੈ ਰਾਵਣ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ਸੀਅ ਕੇ ਢਿਗ ਯੌ ॥

Wearing the garb of a Yogi and uttering the traditional invocation for alms, Ravan went near Sita,

ਅਵਿਲੋਕ ਧਨੀ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਬਡੋ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਗ ਮੋ ਠਗ ਜਯੋ ॥

Aviloka Dhanee Dhanvaan Bado Tih Jaaei Milai Maga Mo Tthaga Jayo ॥

Like a thug visiting a wealthy person and said,

ਕਛੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਭਿਛਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਨੈਨ ਹਮੈ ਇਹ ਰੇਖ ਮਿਟਾਇ ਹਮੈ ਅਬ ਹੀ ॥

Kachhu Dehu Bhichhaa Mriga Nain Hamai Eih Rekh Mittaaei Hamai Aba Hee ॥

“O doe-eyed, cross this line and give me some alms,”

ਬਿਨੁ ਰੇਖ ਭਈ ਅਵਿਲੋਕ ਲਈ ਹਰਿ ਸੀਅ ਉਡਯੋ ਨਭਿ ਕਉ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੩੫੫॥

Binu Rekh Bhaeee Aviloka Laeee Hari Seea Audayo Nabhi Kau Taba Hee ॥355॥

And when Ravan saw Sita crossing the line, he seized her and began to fly towards the sky.355.

Gahi Baan Silaa Sita Sa`ji Dhanaan ॥

When Ram visualized in his mind about the abduction of Sita, he caught hold of his bow and arrows in his hand and sat down on a white rock.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਫਿਰੇ ॥

Chahooaan Aor Sudhaara Nihaara Phire ॥

ਛਿਤ ਊਪਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਘੁਰਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ ॥੩੫੬॥

ਸੀਅ ਜਾਇ ਕਹਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਧ ਕਰੋ ॥੩੫੭॥

“O my Lord ! Do not be impatient, keep your composure. Ruminate on the fact where Sita has gone.?”357.

Ram got up but again swooned and came to consciousness again after some time.

ਰਣ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੱਧਿ ਗਿਰਯੋ ਭਟ ਜਯੋਂ ॥੩੫੮॥

He got up from the earth like a warrior slowly regaining consciousness in the battlefield.358.
