Choupaee ॥
Chaupaee
Taba Raajai Eih Bachan Auchaaree ॥
Sunu Raanee Kokilaa Piaaree ॥
And he said, ‘Listen, my beloved Kokila Rani,
Eeka Haraaei Mrigahi Mai Aayo ॥
Kaanpata Bootta Mai Duriyo Daraayo ॥61॥
‘I have just defeated a deer and, dreaded, it is hiding in the bushes.’(61)
Houdee Baata Mooaanda Eih Aanee ॥
Mriga Pai Kari Kokilaa Pachhaanee ॥
When Raja told her this, she accepted that Raja was really talking about the deer.
Kahe Tou Turta Taahi Hani Laiaaoo ॥
Taa Ko Tuma Ko Maasu Khvaaoo ॥62॥
He added, ‘If you say so, I will go and kill that deer and bring its meat for your eating.’(62)
Taba Kokilaa Khusee Havai Gaeee ॥
Chaahata Thee Chita Mai So Bhaeee ॥
Kokila was very much pleased to hear this as she already wanted this to happen.
Yaha Ein Moorha Bheda Nahi Paayo ॥
Taji Yaa Kou Mriga Ko Taba Dhaayo ॥63॥
She could not acquiesces the real purpose and Raja went out towards the deer.(63)
Seerhin Beecha Nripati Laga Rahiyo ॥
Teera Kamaan Haatha Mai Gahiyo ॥
With bow and arrow in his hands, Raja stood on the stairs.
Jaba Hodee Tih Tthaan Chali Aayo ॥
Bihsi Risaalu Bachan Sunaayo ॥64॥
When the deer came towards that side, Rasaloo said jovially,(64)
Aba Tuma Kahiyo Pourkhhi Dharo ॥
Mo Par Parthama Ghaaei Kaha Karo ॥
‘Now 1 tell you that you must attack me with great care.’
Kaanpata Tarsata Nahi Sasatar Saanbhaariyo ॥
Tani Dhanu Baan Risaaloo Maariyo ॥65॥
With full control upon his arms and Rasaloo pulled hard and shot an arrow.(65)
Laagata Baan Dharni Gri Pariyo ॥
Eekai Brin Laagata Hee Mariyo ॥
The arrow hit him (the Raja inside the mat) and with one shot alone he was thrown on the ground.
Taa Ko Turta Maasu Katti Leeno ॥
Bhooaanji Kokilaa Kou Lai Deeno ॥66॥
He cut his meat and, after roasting, gave that to Kokila.(66)
Jaba Tih Maasu Kokilaa Khaayo ॥
Lagiyo Salouno Ati Chita Bhaayo ॥
When Kokila ate that meat, she relished it tastefully and said,
Jaa Ke Tuli Maasu Koaoo Naahee ॥
Raajaa Mai Reejhee Man Maahee ॥67॥
‘There has never been the meat like this before and I feel very touch satiated.’(67)
Taba Reesaaloo Bachan Auchaare ॥
Vahai Mriga Kar Pariyo Hamaare ॥
Then Rasaloo told her, ‘This is the same deer, with whom you made
Jiyata Too Jaa Sou Bhoga Kamaayo ॥
Mare Paraata Maasu Tih Khaayo ॥68॥
Love and now you have eaten it.’(68)
Jaba Yaha Tanika Bhanika Suni Paeee ॥
Laala Hutee Piyaree Havai Gaeee ॥
When she heard this, her rosy cheeks turned pale (and thought),
Dhriga Jiyabo Eih Jagata Hamaaro ॥
Jin Ghaayo Niju Meet Paiaaro ॥69॥
‘It is blasphemous to live in a world where my loved one is killed.’(69)
