ਸੁਮਤਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਇਕ ਸੁਨੀ ॥

Sumati Kuari Raanee Eika Sunee ॥

ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਬਿਖੈ ਅਤਿ ਗੁਨੀ ॥

Beda Puraan Bikhi Ati Gunee ॥

There had been a Rani called Sumat Kumari who was adept in Vedas and Puranas.

ਹਰ ਹਰ ਸਦਾ ਬਕਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਕਹੈ ॥੧॥

Har Har Sadaa Bakatar Te Kahai ॥1॥

She worshipped god Shiva and all the time meditated on his name.(1)

ਬਿਸਨ ਸਿਖ੍ਯ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂ ਰਹਈ ॥

Bisan Sikhi Raajaa Joo Rahaeee ॥

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਬਕਤ੍ਰ ਤੇ ਕਹਈ ॥

Hari Hari Sadaa Bakatar Te Kahaeee ॥

Raja worshipped god Vishnu and always reflected on his appellation.

ਸਿਵ ਕੌ ਨੈਕ ਨ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਲ੍ਯਾਵੈ ॥

Siva Kou Naika Na Man Mai Laiaavai ॥

ਸਦਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਦੇ ਗੀਤਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨॥

Sadaa Krisan De Geetn Gaavai ॥2॥

He would never recollect Shiva and continuously recounted the praises of Krishna.(2)

ਰਾਨੀ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੈ ॥

Raanee So Eih Bhaanti Auchaarai ॥

ਤੈ ਸਿਵ ਸਿਵ ਕਾਹੇ ਕੌ ਬਿਚਾਰੈ ॥

Tai Siva Siva Kaahe Kou Bichaarai ॥

He reprimanded Rani as well why did she think of Shiva so much.

ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਯਾ ਮੈ ਕਛੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥

Chamatakaara Yaa Mai Kachhu Naahee ॥

ਯੌ ਆਵਤ ਮੋਰੇ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੩॥

You Aavata More Man Maahee ॥3॥

‘My mind is convinced that he has no celestial powers.’(3)

ਚਮਤਕਾਰ ਸਿਵ ਤੁਮੈ ਬਤਾਊਂ ॥

Chamatakaara Siva Tumai Bataaoona ॥

ਤੋ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਮਾਰਗ ਲ੍ਯਾਊਂ ॥

To Tuma Ko Eih Maaraga Laiaaoona ॥

(Her reply) ‘I will show you the miraculous power of Shiva and then you will be convinced.

ਤੈ ਸਿਵ ਕੋ ਕਛੁ ਚਰਿਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ॥

Tai Siva Ko Kachhu Charita Na Jaano ॥

ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਤੇ ਭਯੋ ਦਿਵਾਨੋ ॥੪॥

Dhan Parsaada Te Bhayo Divaano ॥4॥

‘You don’t realize the Chritars of Shiva, as you are just confined to your palaces and treasure.(4)
