Hearing the words of Krishna, all the gopis began to sing

ਸਿੰਧੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਰੁ ਘ੍ਰਿਤਾਚੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਇਨ ਸੀ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਚਤ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ॥

Siaandhu Sutaa Ru Ghritaachee Tareeyaa Ein See Nahee Naachata Eiaandar Sabhai ॥

Even Lakshmi and Ghritachi, the heavenly damsel of the court of Indra cannot dance and sing like them

ਦਿਵਯਾ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਗਜ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੁ ਦਾਨ ਅਭੈ ॥

Divayaa Ein Ke Saangi Khelta Hai Gaja Ko Kabi Saiaam Su Daan Abhai ॥

ਚੜ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਬਿਵਾਨਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੈ ਸੁਰ ਦੇਖਨ ਆਵਤ ਤਿਆਗ ਨਭੈ ॥੫੭੮॥

Charha Kai Su Bivaann Suaandar Mai Sur Dekhn Aavata Tiaaga Nabhai ॥578॥

These gopis, having the gait of an elephant are playing with Krishna fearlessly in godly manner and in order to see their amorous play, the gods are coming in their air-vehicles, leaving the heaven.578.

ਤ੍ਰੇਤਹਿ ਹੋ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਮ ਬਲੀ ਜਗ ਜੀਤਿ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਧਰਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਸੀਲਾ ॥

ਗਾਇ ਕੈ ਗੀਤ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਕਰੈ ਰਸ ਲੀਲਾ ॥

Gaaei Kai Geet Bhalee Bidhi So Phuni Gavaarin Beecha Kari Rasa Leelaa ॥

The mighty Ram, who had lived the life of character and righteousness on conquering the world in the Treta age, the same is now absorbed in amorous play with the gopis, singing songs very nicely

ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਊਪਰ ਕੋ ਪਟ ਪੀਲਾ ॥

Khelta So Saangi Gopin Kai Kabi Saiaam Kahai Jaduraaei Hattheelaa ॥579॥

The yellow garments look splendid on his beautiful body and he is being called the persistent king of Yadavas, the performer of amorous acts with the gopis.579.

ਬੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਜਹ ਕੋਕਿਲਕਾ ਅਰੁ ਸੋਰ ਕਰੈ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਰਟਾਸੀ ॥

Bolata Hai Jaha Kokilakaa Aru Sora Kari Chahooaan Aor Rattaasee ॥

ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੀ ਦੇਹ ਰਜੈ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੈਨ ਘਟਾ ਸੀ ॥

Saiaam Kahai Tih Saiaam Kee Deha Rajai Ati Suaandar Main Ghattaa See ॥

On seeing whom, the nightingale is cooing and the peocock is repeating his utterance, the body of that Krishna seems like the cloud of the god of love

ਤਾ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਤੇ ਉਪਜੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨੋ ਘੋਰ ਘਟਾ ਸੀ ॥

Taa Pikhi Kai Man Gavaarin Te Aupajee Ati Hee Mano Ghora Ghattaa See ॥

ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਯੌ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਦਮਕੈ ਮਨੋ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਿਜੁ ਛਟਾ ਸੀ ॥੫੮੦॥

Taa Mahi You Brikhbhaan Sutaa Damakai Mano Suaandar Biju Chhattaa See ॥580॥

Seeing Krishna the thundering clouds arose in the minds of gopis and amongst them Radha is flashing like lightining.580.

ਜਾ ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਸਮ ਚੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਸੁ ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਲਖਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥

Jaa Mukh Kee Sama Chaanda Parbhaa Jasu Taa Chhabi Ko Kabi Ne Lakhi Leeno ॥

The face, whose glory has been seen by the poet like moon

ਸਾਜ ਸਭੈ ਸਜ ਕੈ ਸੁਭ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭਾਲ ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿੰਦੂਆ ਇਕ ਦੀਨੋ ॥

Saaja Sabhai Saja Kai Subha Suaandar Bhaala Bikhi Biaandooaa Eika Deeno ॥

ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਸਬ ਸੋਕ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੫੮੧॥

Dekhta Hee Hari Reejha Rahe Man Ko Saba Soka Bidaa Kar Deeno ॥581॥

Who, having been adorned completely, has fixed a mark on her forehead, seeing that Radha, Krishna has been fascinated and all the sorrow of his mind ended.581.

Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Saanga Kheln Kee Hasi Kai Hari Suaandar Baata Kahai ॥

ਸੁਨਏ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਾਢਤ ਜਾ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਸੋਕ ਦਹੈ ॥

Sunaee Jih Ke Mani Aanaanda Baadhata Jaa Suna Kai Sabha Soka Dahai ॥

Krishna talked to Radha smilingly, asking her for the amorous play, hearing which the mind is overjoyed and the anguish is destroyed

ਤਿਹ ਕਉਤੁਕ ਕੌ ਮਨ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਬਿ ਸਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਦਿਖਬੋ ਈ ਚਹੈ ॥

Tih Kautuka Kou Man Gopin Ko Kabi Sayaam Kahai Dikhbo Eee Chahai ॥

The mind of the gopis wants to see this wonderful play continuously

ਨਭਿ ਮੈ ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਸੁਰ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਜਾਇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਇ ਸੁ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ॥੫੮੨॥

Nabhi Mai Pikhi Kai Sur Gaandharba Jaaei Chaliyo Nahi Jaaei Su Reejha Rahai ॥582॥

Even in heaven, the gods and gandharvas, on seeing this, are standing motionless and getting charmed.582.

ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਉਪਰ ਪੀਤ ਪਿਛਉਰੀ ॥

Kabi Saiaam Kahai Tih Kee Aupamaa Jih Ke Phuni Aupar Peet Pichhauree ॥

The poet Shyam lauds him, who is wearing yellow garments

ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਢਿਗ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗਾਵਤ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਗਉਰੀ ॥

Taahee Ke Aavata Hai Chali Kai Dhiga Suaandar Gaavata Saaraanga Gauree ॥

The women are coming towards him singing the musical modes of Sarang and Gauri

ਸਾਵਲੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਢਿਗ ਆਇ ਰਹੀ ਅਤਿ ਰੀਝ ਇਕਾਵਤ ਦਉਰੀ ॥

Saavaleeaa Hari Kai Dhiga Aaei Rahee Ati Reejha Eikaavata Dauree ॥

The dark-coloured attractive women are coming (slowly) towards him and some are coming running

ਇਉ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਲਖਿ ਫੂਲ ਰਹੀ ਲਪਟਾਇ ਮਨੋ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਭਉਰੀ ॥੫੮੩॥

Eiau Aupamaa Aupajee Lakhi Phoola Rahee Lapattaaei Mano Tareeya Bhauree ॥583॥

They appears like black bees running to embrace the flowr-like Krishna.583.

ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਜੋਊ ਦੈਤਨ ਕੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਬੀਰ ਜਸੀ ਹੈ ॥

Saiaam Kahai Tih Kee Aupamaa Joaoo Daitan Ko Ripu Beera Jasee Hai ॥

ਜੇ ਤਪ ਬੀਚ ਬਡੋ ਤਪੀਆ ਰਸ ਬਾਤਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਜੁ ਰਸੀ ਹੈ ॥

Je Tapa Beecha Bado Tapeeaa Rasa Baatan Mai Ati Hee Ju Rasee Hai ॥

The poet Shyam praises him, who is the enemy of demons, who is a praiseworthy warriors, who is a great ascetic among ascetics and who is a great aesthete among men of taste

ਜਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਕੰਠ ਕਪੋਤ ਸੋ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਭਾ ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਸਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਸੀ ਹੈ ॥

Jaahee Ko Kaanttha Kapota So Hai Jih Bhaa Mukh Kee Sama Joti Sasee Hai ॥

ਤਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਮਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਹਨਿ ਕੀ ਅਰੁ ਪੰਚ ਕਸੀ ਹੈ ॥੫੮੪॥

Taa Mriganee Tareeya Maaran Ko Hari Bhauhani Kee Aru Paancha Kasee Hai ॥584॥

Whose throat is like a pigeon and the glory of face like moon and who has got ready his arrows of eyebrows (eyelashes) in order to kill the doe-like women.584.

ਫਿਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਹੈ ॥

Phiri Kai Hari Gavaarin Ke Saanga Ho Phuni Gaavata Saaraanga Raamkalee Hai ॥

Wandering with the gopis, Krishna is singing the musical modes of Sarang and Ramkali

ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੂਥ ਅਲੀ ਹੈ ॥

Gaavata Hai Man Aanaanda Kai Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Saangi Jootha Alee Hai ॥

On this side Radha is also singing, greatly pleased alongwith her group of friends

ਤਾ ਸੰਗ ਡੋਲਤ ਹੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜੋਊ ਅਤਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਰਾਧੇ ਭਲੀ ਹੈ ॥

Taa Saanga Dolata Hai Bhagavaan Joaoo Ati Suaandari Raadhe Bhalee Hai ॥

In the same group, Krishna is also moving with extremely beautiful Radha

ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੋ ਸਸਿ ਸੋ ਮੁਖ ਛਾਜਤ ਭਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਕੰਜ ਕਲੀ ਹੈ ॥੫੮੫॥

Raajata Hai Jih Ko Sasi So Mukh Chhaajata Bhaa Driga Kaanja Kalee Hai ॥585॥

The face of that Radhika is like moon and eyes like lotus-buds.585.

ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੰਗ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਰਸਵਾਰੇ ॥

Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Saanga Baata Kahee Kabi Saiaam Kahai Hari Joo Rasavaare ॥

The aesthete Krishna tilked to Radha

ਜਾ ਮੁਖ ਕੀ ਸਮ ਚੰਦ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਸੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਰੇ ॥

Jaa Mukh Kee Sama Chaanda Parbhaa Jih Ke Mriga Se Driga Suaandar Kaare ॥

The glory of the face of Radha is like moon and eyes like the black eyes of a doe

ਕੇਹਰਿ ਸੀ ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਕਟਿ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਬਚਨਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੇ ॥

Kehari See Jih Kee Katti Hai Tin Hooaan Bachanaa Eih Bhaanti Auchaare ॥

ਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾ ਮਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਸੋਕ ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥੫੮੬॥

So Suni Kai Sabha Gavaaraneeyaa Man Ke Sabhi Soka Bidaa Kari Daare ॥586॥

Radha, whose waist is slim like lion, when Krishna said to her in this way, all the sorrows in the minds of gopis were destroyed.586.

ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਜਿਨ ਹੂੰ ਬੜਵਾਨਲ ਲੀਲੀ ॥

Hasi Kai Tih Baata Kahee Rasa Kee Su Parbhaa Jin Hooaan Barhavaanla Leelee ॥

The Lord, who had drunk the forest-fire, talked smilingly

ਜੋ ਜਗ ਬੀਚ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਰਵਿ ਕੈ ਨਰ ਕੈ ਤਰੁ ਕੈ ਗਜ ਅਉਰ ਪਪੀਲੀ ॥

Jo Jaga Beecha Rahiyo Ravi Kai Nar Kai Taru Kai Gaja Aaur Papeelee ॥

That Lort, who pervades all the world and all the objects of the world including the sun, man, elephant and even the insects

ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਸੰਗ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਕੇ ਅਤਿ ਸਹੀ ਸੁ ਰਸੀਲੀ ॥

Mukh Te Tin Suaandar Baata Kahee Saanga Gavaarani Ke Ati Sahee Su Raseelee ॥

He talked in extremely savoury words

ਤਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਸਭ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਛਬੀਲੀ ॥੫੮੭॥

Taa Suni Kai Sabha Reejha Rahee Suni Reejha Rahee Brikhbhaanu Chhabeelee ॥587॥

Listening to his words all the gopis and Radha were allured.587.

ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਬਤੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਭੀਨੋ ॥

Gavaaraneeyaa Suni Sarunan Mai Bateeaa Hari Kee Ati Hee Man Bheeno ॥

The gopis were extremely pleased on listening to the talk of Krishna

ਕੰਠਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਸਰਿ ਮਾਗ ਧਰੈ ਜੋਊ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਾਜ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥

Kaantthasiree Aru Besari Maaga Dhari Joaoo Suaandar Saaja Naveeno ॥

They bedecked themselves with necklaces and vermilion in the parting of the hair on their head

ਜੋ ਅਵਤਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੁ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਨਗੀਨੋ ॥

Jo Avataaran Te Avataara Kahai Kabi Saiaam Ju Hai Su Nageeno ॥

ਤਾਹਿ ਕਿਧੌ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਛਲ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਮਨੋ ਮਨ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੫੮੮॥

Taahi Kidhou Ati Hee Chhala Kai Su Churaaei Mano Man Gopin Leeno ॥588॥

All of them have also worn the gem-like Krishna, who is the greatest of incarnations and with extreme deceit, they have stolen him and concealed in their mind.588.

ਕਾਨਰ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਸਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਸੰਗ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਐਸੇ ॥

Kaanr So Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Hasi Baata Kahee Saanga Suaandar Aaise ॥

Radha caused her eyes to dance, while talking smilingly to Krishna

ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਸੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਰੁਚੈ ਸੇ ॥

Nain Nachaaei Mahaa Mriga Se Kabi Saiaam Kahai Ati Hee Su Ruchai Se ॥

Her eyes are extremely charming like doe

ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਕਬਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਉਮਗੈ ਸੇ ॥

Taa Chhabi Kee Ati Hee Aupamaa Aupajee Kabi Ke Man Te Aumagai Se ॥

ਮਾਨਹੁ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨੋ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਰਤਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੫੮੯॥

Maanhu Aanaanda Kai Ati Hee Mano Kela Kari Pati So Rati Jaise ॥589॥

While praising the beauty of that spectacle, the poet says that they are absorbed in delightful amorous play like Rati with the god of love.589.

ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਖੁਭਾ ਹੈ ॥

Gavaarin Ko Hari Kaanchan Se Tan Mai Mani Kee Man Tuli Khubhaa Hai ॥

The mind of the gopis is studded with the body of Krishna like a gem

ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਸੋ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਨੀ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਸੁਭਾ ਹੈ ॥

Khelta Hai Hari Ke Saanga So Jin Kee Barnee Nahee Jaata Subhaa Hai ॥

They are playing with that Krishna, whose temperament cannot be described

ਖੇਲਨ ਕੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਰਚੀ ਰਸ ਕੇ ਹਿਤ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਾ ਹੈ ॥

Kheln Ko Bhagavaan Rachee Rasa Ke Hita Chitar Bachitar Sabhaa Hai ॥

ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਮਨੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੯੦॥

You Aupajee Aupamaa Tin Mai Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Mano Chaandar Parbhaa Hai ॥590॥

The lord has also created this wornderful assembly for his amorous sport and in this assembly, Radha looks splendid like the moon.590.

ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਇਸ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਖੇਲਤ ਭੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥

Brikhbhaanu Sutaa Hari Aaeisa Maan Kai Khelta Bhee Ati Hee Sarma Kai ॥

Obeying Krishna, Radha is playing with effort single-mindedly

ਗਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਸੋ ਹਾਥ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਸਭ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਾਚਤ ਰਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥

Gahi Haatha So Haatha Tareeyaa Sabha Suaandar Naachata Raasa Bikhi Bharma Kai ॥

All the women, catching their hands, are busy in roundelays in the amorous sport describing their story

ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਕਥਾ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕਰੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥

Tih Kee Su Kathaa Man Beecha Bichaari Kari Kabi Saiaam Kahee Karma Kai ॥

ਮਨੋ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੇ ਘਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭਾਮਿਨਿ ਦਾਮਿਨਿ ਜਿਉ ਦਮਕੈ ॥੫੯੧॥
