Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਮੈ ਭਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

Sarab Sukhaa Mai Bhaaliaa Har Jaevadd N Koee ||

I have pursued all pleasures, but none is as great as the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਤੁਠੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥

Gur Thuthae Thae Paaeeai Sach Saahib Soee ||1||

By the Pleasure of the Guru's Will, the True Lord Master is obtained. ||1||

ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਦ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥

Balihaaree Gur Aapanae Sadh Sadh Kurabaanaa ||

I am a sacrifice to my Guru; I am forever and ever a sacrifice to Him.

ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਉ ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਚਸਾ ਇਹੁ ਕੀਜੈ ਦਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

Naam N Visaro Eik Khin Chasaa Eihu Keejai Dhaanaa ||1|| Rehaao ||

Please, grant me this one blessing, that I may never, even for an instant, forget Your Name. ||1||Pause||

ਭਾਗਠੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ਹੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ॥

Bhaagath Sachaa Soe Hai Jis Har Dhhan Anthar ||

How very fortunate are those who have the wealth of the Lord deep within the heart.

ਸੋ ਛੂਟੈ ਮਹਾ ਜਾਲ ਤੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ॥੨॥

So Shhoottai Mehaa Jaal Thae Jis Gur Sabadh Niranthar ||2||

They escape from the great noose of death; they are permeated with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਹਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਸਤ ਸਰੁ ॥

Gur Kee Mehimaa Kiaa Kehaa Gur Bibaek Sath Sar ||

How can I chant the Glorious Praises of the Guru? The Guru is the ocean of Truth and clear understanding.

ਓਹੁ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦੀ ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ॥੩॥

Ouhu Aadh Jugaadhee Jugeh Jug Pooraa Paramaesar ||3||

He is the Perfect Transcendent Lord, from the very beginning, and throughout the ages. ||3||

ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਨੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੈ ਸੰਗੇ ॥੪॥੨॥੧੦੪॥

Jeeo Praan Dhhan Guroo Hai Naanak Kai Sangae ||4||2||104||

The Guru is my soul, my breath of life, and wealth; O Nanak, He is with me forever. ||4||2||104||
