ਸਬਦਿ ਮੁਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥
ਨਿਰਭਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਏ ਭਾਗਿ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਅਉਗੁਣ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਗੁਣਾ ਕਾ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਗੁਣ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੂਚਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਗੁਣ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
ਗੁਣ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਪਾਏ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥
ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
ਜੋ ਗੁਣ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹੈ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥
ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੧॥

Aasaa, Third Mehl:
One who dies in the Word of the Shabad, eradicates his self-conceit from within.
He serves the True Guru, with no iota of self-interest.
The Fearless Lord, the Great Giver, ever abides in his mind.
The True Bani of the Word is obtained only by good destiny. ||1||
So gather merits, and let your demerits depart from within you.
You shall be absorbed into the Shabad, the Word of the Perfect Guru. ||1||Pause||
One who purchases merits, knows the value of these merits.
He chants the Ambrosial Nectar of the Word, and the Name of the Lord.
Through the True Bani of the Word, he becomes pure.
Through merit, the Name is obtained. ||2||
The invaluable merits cannot be acquired.
The pure mind is absorbed into the True Word of the Shabad.
How very fortunate are those who meditate on the Naam,
And ever enshrine in their minds the Lord, the Giver of merit. ||3||
I am a sacrifice to those who gather merits.
At the Gate of Truth, I sing the Glorious Praises of the True One.
He Himself spontaneously bestows His gifts.
O Nanak, the value of the Lord cannot be described. ||4||2||41||

nullnullnullnullਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਵਲੋਂ) ਨਿਰਲੇਪ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਆਪਾ-ਭਾਵ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ) ਰਤਾ ਭਰ ਭੀ ਲਾਲਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਦਾਤਾਰ ਸਦਾ ਵੱਸਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੀ ਚੰਗੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ) ਗੁਣ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰੋ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੋ, ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ) ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnullਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਵਿਹਾਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰ-ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸੌਦਾ ਮਿਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥nullnullnullਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈ ਸਕਦਾ, ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਕੀਮਤ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੇ, (ਹਾਂ,) ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ (ਇਹ ਗੁਣ) ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਏ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ (ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ-ਥਿਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ (ਟਿਕ ਕੇ) ਉਸ ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ) ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਚੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੪॥੨॥੪੧॥
