ਸਰਬ ਦੂਖ ਜਬ ਬਿਸਰਹਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
ਈਹਾ ਊਹਾ ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
ਸੰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਧ੍ਯ੍ਯਾਇ ॥
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਨਾਇ ਲਾਏ ਸਰਬ ਸੂਖ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਰਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਵਤ ਕਉ ਜਾਨਤ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮਰਤਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥
ਜਿਨਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਦੀਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਮਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਏਕ ॥
ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੩॥੯੭॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
Everything is painful, when one forgets the Lord Master.
Here and hereafter, such a mortal is useless. ||1||
The Saints are satisfied, meditating on the Lord, Har, Har.
Bestowing Your Mercy, God, You attach us to Your Name; all peace comes by Your Will. ||Pause||
The Lord is Ever-present; one who deems Him to be far away,
Dies again and again, repenting. ||2||
The mortals do not remember the One, who has given them everything.
Engrossed in such terrible corruption, their days and nights waste away. ||3||
Says Nanak, meditate in remembrance of the One Lord God.
Salvation is obtained, in the Shelter of the Perfect Guru. ||4||3||97||

nullnullਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ (ਕਿਸੇ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਆ ਘੇਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥nullਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਉਹ (ਤੇਰੇ) ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰ ਸਿਮਰ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ) ਰੱਜੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਰਹਾਉ॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਦੂਰ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ) ਖਿੱਝ ਖਿੱਝ ਕੇ ਆਤਮਕ ਮੌਤ ਸਹੇੜੀ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੨॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ (ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ) ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਡਾਢੀ ਮਾਇਆ (ਦੇ ਮੋਹ) ਵਿਚ (ਫਸਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਗੁਜ਼ਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੩॥nullਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ- (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ (ਤੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਸੀਦਾ) ॥੪॥੩॥੯੭॥
