BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਝਿਮੀ ਤੇਜ ਤੇਗੰ ਸੁਰੋਸੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥

Jhimee Teja Tegaan Surosaan Parhaaraan ॥

The sword which she has struck in ire

ਖਿਮੀ ਦਾਮਿਨੀ ਜਾਣ ਭਾਦੋ ਮਝਾਰੰ ॥

Khimee Daaminee Jaan Bhaado Majhaaraan ॥

It hath hlistened like lightning in the month of Bhadon.

ਉਦੇ ਨਦ ਨਾਦੰ ਕੜਕੇ ਕਮਾਣੰ ॥

Aude Nada Naadaan Karhake Kamaanaan ॥

The jingling sound of bows appears like the sound of flowing stream.

ਮਚਿਯੋ ਲੋਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ ਅਭੂਤੰ ਭਯਾਣੰ ॥੭॥੮੪॥

Machiyo Loha Karohaan Abhootaan Bhayaanaan ॥7॥84॥

And the steel-weapons have been struck in great anger, which appear unique and frightening.7.84.

ਬਜੇ ਭੇਰਿ ਭੇਰੀ ਜੁਝਾਰੇ ਝਣੰਕੇ ॥

Baje Bheri Bheree Jujhaare Jhanaanke ॥

The sound of drums rises in the battle and the warriors glisten their weapons.

ਪਰੀ ਕੁਟ ਕੁਟੰ ਲਗੇ ਧੀਰ ਧਕੇ ॥

Paree Kutta Kuttaan Lage Dheera Dhake ॥

There is a great rush of blows and the men of endurance are experiencing shocks.

ਚਵੀ ਚਾਵਡੀਯੰ ਨਫੀਰੰ ਰਣੰਕੰ ॥

Chavee Chaavadeeyaan Napheeraan Ranaankaan ॥

The vultures shriek and the clarionets are being played.

ਮਨੋ ਬਿਚਰੰ ਬਾਘ ਬੰਕੇ ਬਬਕੰ ॥੮॥੮੫॥

Mano Bicharaan Baagha Baanke Babakaan ॥8॥85॥

It appears that terrible tigers are roaring and roaming.8.85.

ਉਤੇ ਕੋਪੀਯੰ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਬਿੰਦੰ ਸੁ ਬੀਰੰ ॥

ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਸੋ ਆਨਿ ਤੀਰੰ ॥

Parhaare Bhalee Bhaanti So Aani Teeraan ॥

ਉਤੇ ਦਉਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਖਗ ਪਾਤੰ ॥

ਗਰਿਯੋ ਮੂਰਛਾ ਹੁਐ ਭਯੋ ਜਾਨੁ ਘਾਤੰ ॥੯॥੮੬॥

Gariyo Moorachhaa Huaai Bhayo Jaanu Ghaataan ॥9॥86॥

ਪਰੇ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਗਾਤ ਟੂਟੇ ॥

Pare Charma Barmaan Kahooaan Gaata Ttootte ॥

Somewhere their shields, armour and wounded bodies are lying scattered

ਜਿਤੀ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਧੰ ਪਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥

Jitee Bhoomi Madhaan Paree Sarona Dhaaraan ॥

With all the drops of blood that fall on the ground.

ਜਗੇ ਸੂਰ ਤੇਤੇ ਕੀਏ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥੧੧॥੮੮॥

Jage Soora Tete Keeee Maara Maaraan ॥11॥88॥

ਪਰੀ ਕੁਟ ਕੁਟੰ ਰੁਲੇ ਤਛ ਮੁਛੰ ॥

ਭਯੋ ਚਾਰ ਸੈ ਕੋਸ ਲਉ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥

Bhayo Chaara Sai Kosa Lau Beera Khetaan ॥

For four hundred kos, the battlefield was occupied by warriors.
