After marrying the daughter of King Janak, the princes soon asked for permission to depart.

ਸਾਜਨ ਬਾਜ ਚਲੇ ਗਜ ਸੰਜੁਤ ॥

Saajan Baaja Chale Gaja Saanjuta ॥

ਏਸਨਏਸ ਨਰੇਸਨ ਕੇ ਜੁਤ ॥੧੭੭॥

Eesaneesa Naresan Ke Juta ॥177॥

This group of kings accompanied by elephants and horses, having many desires in their mind, started (for back journey).177.

ਦਾਜ ਸੁਮਾਰ ਸਕੈ ਕਰ ਕਉਨੈ ॥

Daaja Sumaara Sakai Kar Kaunai ॥

ਬੀਨ ਸਕੈ ਬਿਧਨਾ ਨਹੀ ਤਉਨੈ ॥

Beena Sakai Bidhanaa Nahee Taunai ॥

The dowry was given in such a great measure that even the Brahmins could not keep the same collectively.

ਬੇਸਨ ਬੇਸਨ ਬਾਜ ਮਹਾ ਮਤ ॥

Besan Besan Baaja Mahaa Mata ॥

ਭੇਸਨ ਭੇਸ ਚਲੇ ਗਜ ਗੱਜਤ ॥੧੭੮॥

Bhesan Bhesa Chale Gaja Ga`jata ॥178॥

Many types of horses and the thundering elephants in many garbs started moving.178.

ਗਾਜਤ ਸੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਥ ਮਹਾ ਮਨ ॥

Gaajata Soora Parmaatha Mahaa Man ॥

The sound of fifes resounded and the mighty warriors thundered.

ਅਉਧ ਪੁਰੀ ਨੀਅਰਾਨ ਰਹੀ ਜਬ ॥

Aaudha Puree Neearaan Rahee Jaba ॥

ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਭਏ ਰਘੁਨੰਦ ਤਹੀ ਤਬ ॥੧੭੯॥

Paraapata Bhaee Raghunaanda Tahee Taba ॥179॥

When Oudhpuri was nearby, then all were welcomed by Ram.179.

The mother drank water after its propitiatory offering to princes and the King Dasrath was highly pleased in his mind seeing this splendour.

ਨਾਚਤ ਗਾਵਤ ਗੀਤ ਭਏ ਪੁਰਿ ॥੧੮੦॥

Naachata Gaavata Geet Bhaee Puri ॥180॥

On seeing the princes, the king hugged them to his bosom and all the people entered the city while dancing and singing.180.

ਭੂਪਜ ਬਯਾਹ ਜਬੈ ਗ੍ਰਹ ਆਏ ॥

Bhoopja Bayaaha Jabai Garha Aaee ॥

ਬਾਜਤ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਧਾਏ ॥

Baajata Bhaanti Aneka Badhaaee ॥

When the princes came home after their marriage, then many kinds of congratulatory songs were sung.

ਤਾਤ ਬਸਿਸਟ ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬੁਲਾਏ ॥

Taata Basisatta Sumitar Bulaaee ॥

ਅਉਰ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਹਾਂ ਰਿਖਿ ਆਏ ॥੧੮੧॥

Aaur Aneka Tahaan Rikhi Aaee ॥181॥

Dasrath called Vasishtha and Sumantra and with them came several other sages.181.

ਘੋਰ ਉਠੀ ਘਹਰਾਇ ਘਟਾ ਤਬ ॥

Ghora Autthee Ghaharaaei Ghattaa Taba ॥

ਚਾਰੋ ਦਿਸ ਦਿਗ ਦਾਹ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਸਭ ॥

Chaaro Disa Diga Daaha Lakhiyo Sabha ॥

At that time the clouds gathered on all the four sides and all saw apparently the flames of fire in all the four directions.

ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਅਕੁਲਾਨੇ ॥

Maantaree Mitar Sabhai Akulaane ॥

ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਂਤ ਬਖਾਨੇ ॥੧੮੨॥

Bhoopti So Eih Bhaanta Bakhaane ॥182॥

On seeing this all the ministers and friends became worried and request the king in the following manner.182.

ਹੋਤ ਉਤਪਾਤ ਬਡੇ ਸੁਣ ਰਾਜਨ ॥

Hota Autapaata Bade Suna Raajan ॥

ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੋ ਰਿਖ ਜੋਰ ਸਮਾਜਨ ॥

Maantar Karo Rikh Jora Samaajan ॥

“O King ! There are many cases of providential wrath, tumult on all the four sides, therefore give thought to them by calling all the sages and advisers.

ਬੋਲਹੁ ਬਿੱਪ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥

Bolahu Bi`pa Bilaanba Na Keejai ॥

ਹੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਜੱਗ ਅਰੰਭਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੧੮੩॥

Hai Krita Ja`ga Araanbhan Keejai ॥183॥

“Call the Brahmins without delay and begin Krit Yajna.183.

ਆਇਸ ਰਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਤਤਕਾਲਹ ॥

Aaeisa Raaja Dayo Tatakaalha ॥

ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸੁ ਮਿੱਤ੍ਰਹ ਬੁੱਧ ਬਿਸਾਲਹ ॥

Maantar Su Mi`tarha Bu`dha Bisaalaha ॥

“O King ! give instant orders for starting the Krit Yajna without delay,

ਹੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਜੱਗ ਅਰੰਭਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥

Hai Krita Ja`ga Araanbhan Keejai ॥

ਆਇਸ ਬੇਗ ਨਰੇਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੧੮੪॥

Aaeisa Bega Naresa Kareejai ॥184॥

“In view of the great wisdom of friends and ministers.”184.

ਬੋਲਿ ਬਡੇ ਰਿਖ ਲੀਨ ਮਹਾਂ ਦਿਜ ॥

Boli Bade Rikh Leena Mahaan Dija ॥

ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਬੋਲ ਲਯੋ ਜੁਤ ਰਿਤਜ ॥

Hai Tin Bola Layo Juta Ritaja ॥

The king called he eminent sages and great friends soon.

ਪਾਵਕ ਕੁੰਡ ਖੁਦਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਅਉਸਰ ॥

Paavaka Kuaanda Khudiyo Tih Aausr ॥

ਗਾਡਿਯ ਖੰਭ ਤਹਾਂ ਧਰਮੰ ਧਰ ॥੧੮੫॥

Gaadiya Khaanbha Tahaan Dharmaan Dhar ॥185॥

The sacrificial pit was dug up there and a pillar of righteousness was established.185.

ਛੋਰਿ ਲਯੋ ਹਯਸਾਰਹ ਤੇ ਹਯ ॥

Chhori Layo Hayasaaraha Te Haya ॥

ਅਸਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਸਤ ਕੇਕਯ ॥

Asita Karn Parbhaasata Kekaya ॥

A horse was let off from the stable so that ending the glory of other king they may be conquered.

ਦੇਸਨ ਦੇਸ ਨਰੇਸ ਦਏ ਸੰਗਿ ॥

Desan Desa Naresa Daee Saangi ॥

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੂਰ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਸੁਭੈ ਅੰਗ ॥੧੮੬॥

Suaandar Soora Suraanga Subhai Aanga ॥186॥

The kings several countries were sent alongwith the horse and all of them were persons of beauteous limbs and the enhancer of glory.186.
