ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਤ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
ਆਨ ਰਸਾ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਕੇ ਮਾਤੇ ਮਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ॥
ਆਨ ਰਸਾ ਮਹਿ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਅਲਮਸਤੁ ਮਤਵਾਰਾ ॥
ਆਨ ਰਸਾ ਸਭਿ ਹੋਛੇ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl, Ti-Padas:
One who drinks in the Lord's sublime essence is forever imbued with it
While other essences wear off in an instant.
Intoxicated with the Lord's sublime essence, the mind is forever in ecstasy.
Other essences bring only anxiety. ||1||
One who drinks in the Lord's sublime essence, is intoxicated and enraptured;
All other essences have no effect. ||1||Pause||
The value of the Lord's sublime essence cannot be described.
The Lord's sublime essence permeates the homes of the Holy.
One may spend thousands and millions, but it cannot be purchased.
He alone obtains it, who is so pre-ordained. ||2||
Tasting it, Nanak is wonder-struck.
Through the Guru, Nanak has obtained this taste.
Here and hereafter, it does not leave him.
Nanak is imbued and enraptured with the Lord's subtle essence. ||3||27||

nullnullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ (ਨਾਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਹੀ ਰੰਗਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਕਦੇ ਦੂਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ) ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਰਸਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਇਕ ਖਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦੇ ਮਤਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਆ ਦਬਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰਨ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦਾ ਆਸ਼ਿਕ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਸ (ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਫਿੱਕੇ ਜਾਪਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੇ ਵੱਟੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲ ਸਕਦਾ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ (ਧਨ-ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿਚ) ਬਿਆਨ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਹੱਟ ਵਿਚ (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਸਦਾ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਲੱਖਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੋੜਾਂ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਿੱਤਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ ਉਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ॥੨॥nullnullnullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਇਹ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ) ਚੱਖ ਕੇ (ਕੋਈ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਦ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਤਨ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ) ਹੈਰਾਨ ਪਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਰਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਮਰਥ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ)। ਇਸ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਉਹ) ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਤੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿਚ (ਕਿਸੇ ਭੀ ਹੋਰ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ) ਇਸ ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ-ਨਾਮ-ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥੨੭॥
