ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਸੂਖ ਜਪਿ ਏਕੈ ਨਾਮ ॥
ਸਗਲ ਧਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਮ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਧ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਭੇਟਤ ਲਾਗੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਓਇ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ ਮਜਨ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਤਿਨਿ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸੁਨੀਜਾ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਸਗਲੇ ਭਵਨ ॥
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਰੇਨ ॥
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਧਿਆਵਉ ॥
ਉਨ ਸਾਧਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
ਮੋਹਿ ਗਰੀਬ ਕਉ ਲੇਹੁ ਰਲਾਇ ॥
ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੮੯॥

Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
All peace and comforts are in the meditation of the One Name.
All righteous actions of Dharma are in the singing of the Lord's Glorious Praises.
The Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is so very pure and sacred.
Meeting with them, love for God is embraced. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, bliss is obtained.
Meditating upon Him in remembrance, the mind is illumined; his state and condition cannot be described. ||1||Pause||
Fasts, religious vows, cleansing baths, and worship to Him;
Listening to the Vedas, Puraanas, and Shaastras.
Extremely pure is he, and immaculate is his place,
Who meditates upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Saadh Sangat. ||2||
That humble being becomes renowned all over the world.
Even sinners are purified, by the dust of his feet.
One who has met the Lord, the Lord our King,
His condition and state cannot be described. ||3||
Twenty-four hours a day, with palms pressed together, I meditate;
I yearn to obtain the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of those Holy Saints.
Merge me, the poor one, with You, O Lord;
Nanak has come to Your Sanctuary. ||4||38||89||

nullnullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ (ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ) ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥null(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਿਆਂ (ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ) ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਦੱਸੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਆ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ (ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ-ਥਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਾ ਦੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਸਾਰੇ ਵਰਤ ਨੇਮ, ਸਾਰੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪੂਜਾ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ, ਮਾਨੋ, ਵੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਤੀਆਂ ਆਦਿਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਧਰਮ-ਪੁਸਤਕ ਸੁਣ ਲਏ ॥੨॥nullnullnull(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਵਸਥਾ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਆਤਮਕ ਵਡੱਪਣ ਬਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ, ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਵਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉੱਘਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥nullnullnullਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜੇਹੜੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ) ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਲਾ ਦੇ (ਤਾ ਕਿ) ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਸਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਅੱਠੇ ਪਹਿਰ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ ॥੪॥੩੮॥੮੯॥
